Foreigners law in Türkiye
In law, a foreign national is someone who is not a citizen of the state in which they are present. Terms such as tourist, migrant, refugee and applicant for international protection are not interchangeable; each may engage different rights and procedures.
Foreigners law covers entry and stay, residence and work permits, international protection, removal and administrative detention. Under Article 16 of the Constitution, the fundamental rights and freedoms of foreign nationals may be restricted only by law and consistently with international law. Each measure must be assessed by its legal basis and available remedy.
